About Paulus Productions Inc.
Paulus Productions, was incorporated in 1973 to develop projects for film, television and the stage. For more than twenty years its joint owners, ROBERT JEFFREY and PAUL RUSSELL built a solid reputation in all three fields with such projects as the stage production Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris, the documentary film Stress (Gold Award-New York Film and Television Festival), the film series for television, Untamed World (Emmy Nominee) and the long-running taped television quiz programme Reach for the Top.
In the mid 1990’s, the company chose to represent a new generation of film school graduates who strove for excellence in quality short films. The first project, Good Night, is a visual interpretation of Henryk Gorecki’s composition of the same name. Created in co-operation with Warner Music Canada and Bravo! Television, the video attracted enthusiastic critical and commercial response.
Following the success of Good Night, the Paulus Film Group was created as an independent cinema house to produce unique narrative-driven films.
This collaboration produced a series of award-winning films, including The Wager, Asahi, Toronto Tabla Ensemble, and Cockroach Blue.
Paulus Productions greeted the new century with two feature films: Cornered, with Leeward Pictures and Film Arts Entertainment and Rhinoceros Eyes, with Madstone Films.
Paulus Productions continues to develop as a multi-media entertainment company with interests in film, television, music and theatre. Included among our recent projects are the feature film Bolly Double, with Kickline Productions, the ongoing Reach For The Top, with TV Ontario, and the recent animated film Time, with The Canadian Brass and Kwan Films.
